NR7Y CW Mod: Morse Code on a $28 Quansheng HT

How the NR7Y custom firmware turns a Quansheng UV-K5 or K1 handheld into a 2 m / 70 cm CW radio, with true CW keying, a built-in iambic keyer, message macros and a code-practice mode. Covers the two ways to key it: the radio's own buttons or a resistor-network paddle cable with no soldering, or an internal rework for a standard external paddle, with photos of the V1 and V3 boards. Also walks through telling V1 from V3/K1 hardware before you flash, backing up your calibration data, and picking the right firmware file and flashing tool. It closes with the Brass Knuckle Gang, a group keeping CW alive on 2 meters.

GEARS UHF Repeater AllStarLink Upgrade

How the UHF East repeater's permanent WIN System link was replaced with AllStarLink node 56934 under W6RHC, and what that means for members: the node can now connect to repeaters and hotspots anywhere, the WIN System included, instead of being tied to one full-time connection. Also covers the DTMF commands for connecting, checking status and disconnecting from your own radio, and how authorized CERT operators can drop the internet link before a net or an emergency while the repeater keeps working locally.
